During his lifelong martial arts career, Michael Heenan has achieved the ranks of Soke of the Bei Koku Aibujutsu Ryu, Osaka, Japan, Hanshi in Bushikan Ju-jitsu, and Sensei in Go Ju Ryu. He is a member of the World Head of Family Sokeship Council.

Soke Heenan has a home on the Temple property which he allows to be used as a retreats house when he is elsewhere. (See retreats house slideshow here.) Currently, he is on assignment in the MIddle East and visits the Honbu in Mexico during summer breaks.

Do No Kai Temple is located in Chapala, Jalisco, atop the mountains that overlook beautiful Lake Chapala, the largest body of water in Mexico, just outside of Guadalajara. The Temple offers instruction in Ju-Jitsu, Kobu-Jitsu, Kung Fu, Tai-Chi and Pak-Qua Chuan.
